I am night, I am darkness, I am quiet and sleek,
I stalk the burning sun and when it disappears, I always appear,
Yet I am invisible, unnoticeable and untouchable.
I am when owls hoot and the miniature theirs steal garbage,
I am always there, no matter how much light fills the day,
And I am when crime rate jumps and reproduction soars.
I am the silence of the world and the movement of the Minority,
I am the shadows around the corner that never go away,
Yet I can just be the underside of a leaf.
I am what comes before and after light,
I am a single tall, shady and overpowering thing,
And I am the closing eyelids of all the people who die.
